In the world of celebrities, if you’re famous and you also happen to be gay, then you had damn well better do a cover of People magazine or Out or something so all of us straight folk can know that you’re gay. I have no idea why this is a thing, because you never see straight celebs on the cover of People being like “It’s true! I’m straight!”, but such is the world of Hollywood.
However, not all gay, lesbian, and bisexual celebrities feel a need to constantly remind us of their sexual orientation (crazy idea: maybe they think it’s none of our fucking business and isn’t relevant to their careers. But that doesn’t mean Hollywood doesn’t have an amazing LGBTQ community! You might not have known that the following?9 celebs were gay, lesbian, or bisexual, but they are! And they’re awesome! And they prove that your sexuality doesn’t always dictate your roles and the career you have.
Sarah Paulson
Sarah Paulson is an amazing goddess who turned out to be the fucking SUPREME on the third (and in my opinion, best) season of American Horror Story. Though she played a lesbian in season two (and had to suffer through some truly messed up and evil shit), Sarah typically plays heterosexual characters and continues to redefine Hollywood’s lesbian stereotypes. Plus, she’s really pretty and really talented.
David Hyde Pierce
David Hyde Pierce is most famous for playing Kelsey Grammer’s brother, Niles,?on “Fraiser”. He even won a bunch of awards for playing him. In case you’re not familiar with the show, Niles spends the majority of the series obsessing over his father’s caretaker, Daphne, before finally marrying her near the end of the series. So yeah, he’s most famous for playing a straight dude, but he’s actually a happy gay man (is it redundant to say that?)
Matt Bomer
Matt Bomer is one of the most classically handsome men in Hollywood, and after seeing him in “Magic Mike”, women all over the world became obsessed with him. Well, sorry ladies (and dudes, for that matter), because Matt is in a long-term, super committed and incredibly happy relationship with another man.
Cara Delevingne
I suppose Cara would technically fall under the “bisexual” category, though the only confirmed relationships she’s been in have been with other women. Back before people knew she mostly liked the ladies there was speculation that she dated Harry Styles, but she’s said many times they’re just good buds. Either way, Cara is a huge It Girl and one of the biggest supermodels in the world right now, so the fact that she’s a member of the LGBT community and has never tried to hide her lady love is pretty rad.
Cynthia Nixon
Cynthia Nixon was actually with a man for years and had two kids with him. However, she eventually realized the D was not for her and went on to marry a fellow ginger woman (Cynthia is not a natural ginger, but still) to create one of the most glorious lesbian ginger couples the world has ever seen!
Jim Parsons
I may not be a fan of “The Big Bang Theory”, but the fact that some of the biggest stars in television comedy over the past decade have been gay men is a pretty cool fact!
Victor Garber
Victor Garber is Canadian (yay!), the godfather of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s oldest daughter (neat!), and is also gay! Who knew?! (Well, now you do!)
Kristen Vangsness
“Criminal Minds” is like my big time guilty pleasure and I fucking love Kristen Vangness, but it’s only recently come to my attention that she’s a lesbian, which kind of makes her relationship with Shemar Moore even more adorable.
Kate McKinnon
You know what’s hotter than a lesbian who is also really, really funny? Not much. Plus, she’s given me one of my favorite SNL characters in a while:

Thaznk you guys for getting this information. Very shocking and amazing.

Sarah Paulson said that she is an “equal opportunity dater” but that men don’t approach her because they think she’s a lesbian…
Luna says
I knew Sarah Paulson was gay, but I never knew the others were gay. I had a suspicion that Jim Parson’s was gay. I never knew the hot chick from Criminal Minds was gay, though. :)

“Idk why gay celebs feel the need to come out” “here is a list of gay celebs just in case you didn’t know they are gay”
Greg says
Most of these celebrity’s are bisexual and don’t put that word in quote marks let people define who they are also I feel like this was written by someone entirely straight because of the bi erasure and paragraph in the beginning :(
